John,
I don't know if you remember me. But I agree with you. 10 minutes of ultimate and I will need an oxygen bottle.

Plans are continuing to move ahead with the 50th anniversary celebration. There should be another mailing coming out so that everyone can get registered that has not already. Also, I am looking for a couple of alums to be in charge of events during the weekend. I would welcome a volunteer to be in charge of the ultimate game/tournament on Saturday and another alum to be in charge of a possible Aggieville outing on Friday night. Let me know if anyone in interested.

Marv,
I would be glad to help out with the Ultimate tourney, as long as I can still RSVP (plus guest).

Matt,
That would be great. Now I just need someone to be in charge of the Friday Night Aggieville event. Hey, if you agree to be in charge of it, you can plan what ever activity you want. (Aggieville Gof etc.)

Marv,
Are there any plans for, oh I don't know, a slideshow of old photos or anything? Should people submit pics or stories or anything of that nature?

Jeremy, there are plans for a slide show. There is a lot of material in old scpapbooks and it would be great to get more. Please send them to Shawn at Smith House at Sturner3@ksu.edu.

I'm going to bring some photos, but since that was before the dawn of the digital age it is too much of a pain to scan them in.

Here is a list of those that have RSVP'd for the anniversary celebration. We are still excepting RSVP's so don't get thrown off by the August 1st date. I know there have been quite a few more sign up since this list was made, but this does give everyone some ideas as to who is coming. We will have to close registration soon, though, so do not hold off much longer. Marv

Hello Smith Alums! Just wanted to let you know that I've been trying to update our Smith House webpage for you but KSU changed the way we upload files and it's held us up considerably...
Hopefully you've all received the newsletter and the recent registration form, if not let me know and I'll e-mail it to you. If you haven't sent it in already, I'll need t-shirt sizes from everyone since that is included in your registration fee.
Planning seems to be coming along well, at least from here at Smith. We're all very excited to host the alums here in just over a month! If you have questions or need anything at all, feel free to e-mail me at sturner3@ksu.edu or reach me on my cell, 785-241-0634. Again, my apologies for the website snafu.

I received my reunion agenda and see that it includes a formal dinner on Sat. night. How formal is this? My wife and daughter are worried about being under-dressed. In the 70's, formal at Smith meant matching socks. Looking forward to seeing everyone in October don

No one is responding to your question so I want to give you my 2 cents. I was in the house in the late 80's and I saw a transition among the guys to greater formality, especially after it became a scholarship house again. I know guys from closer to your era that will arrive in very casual attire, and I know later era guys that will look like they came from GQ. I think there will be a large variety from informal to formal but just to feel comfortable, I would throw a tie in my suit case. If you wore a tie and a T-shirt you will probably have more fun (at least something to talk about) as the guy that wore a tie and jacket. Let your wife and daughter dress up if they want. Smith parties always needed more women . I think all Smithies are there just to have a good time and we all can share in the ideal that all are welcome and no one should feel out of place.

There is no dress code for the Satuday night event, but it will be the most "formal" thing going on that weekend. Just plan on having a good time!

Not going to make it. Hurricane Ike messed me over and too far behind on the project. The more I see the discussion and the more I think about it, it sounds like a blast!

50th anniversary Talent Show!!!! I know there were quite a few talented "Back Farters" (little water on the coffee table) back in the day.
Steve Bell played a mean classical guitar.
