Ok, the ad on the Smith web site sparked this idea for a thread. www.k-state.edu/smithhouse/alumni.html#yearbookSo, what year did that ad run? Dr. Michael O'Donnell was the director. What years did he hold that position? It was before my time. The first year I lived there it was Kelly Parr, and then we hired Anneliese. Others? Help me fill in the years. 1984-1985 Kevin and Teresa 1985-1986 Chris and Regina 1986-1987 Dr. Michael O'Donnell 1987-89 Kelly Parr (thanks Mike & Joel) 1989-1996 Anneliese Snyder 1996-2000? Cynthia ______ 2000-2001 Charles Caudill 2001-present Anneliese Snyder

Kelly Parr!
Do I get a prize?
I can't believe Anneliese is still there. Or did she come back? I thought she left.

I think Chet will be able to put some dates on this one... I think Michael was there when he showed up at Smith in 1985, and then Kelly took over. I'm thinking maybe Kelly showed up in 1986 because I don't think he was new when I showed up in 1987, but I can't say for sure.
It'll be good if some older guys can come in and go back even further.

I think Anneliese was away for a while too. Where are our younger guys who have those years?

Dr. Michael O'Donnell was house director my first year 86-87, but I don't remember when he started. He really was not around much (or I was otherwise occupied), so I don't really remember him.
Kelly started my second year 87-88. Great guy - very involved in the house activities.

Anneliese left after the 95-96 school year. I remeber that, because that was the year I graduated and left the house. I think she was gone for 5 years and came back for the 01-02 years. So, she has been back around 6 years.
In the time she was gone we had Cynthia_____ for a few years and had Charles Caudill for one year.

Kelly was the best. He played ultimate with us and everything. He was like just another guy in the house.
I've had dreams where in a parallel life where I was still single I became the Executive Director. I've often thought what a cool job that would be.

Agreed - Kelly was awesome.
We are missing another that I guess would have been in 85-86 timeframe. They were a married couple and lived in the house, but I can't remember their names. Unfortunately we had nicknames for them too, so it's harder to rembember their real names. She may have been Regina? He looked like a famous comedian that you see in movies from time to time but I can't think of his name either. Small guy, mostly bald, light complection.

Bonus points to whoever can name where Anneliese worked prior to coming to Smith House in 1989.

Bonus points to whoever can name where Anneliese worked prior to coming to Smith House in 1989. Hmm, I was part of the group that interviewed her. Seems like she was working on a PhD at the U. of Penn, but might have been Penn State, or somewhere else. Don't remember where she might have been working at the time. Mark

Hmmm, well I'm thinking of a place she worked that was an influential reference and gave her the qualifications we were looking for. (Hint: she was a house mother)

The married couple was '84-'85. Her name was Teresa and she lived at Smurthwaite. He was from Smith, and I can't remember his name. They had either just graduated, or were seniors when the got married and became they house directors. If I remember correctly, they were the first directors after the alumni bought the house from Housing.
