Greetings folks.
Murray Pickard here, lived at Smith Scholarship House from fall of 1990 through summer of 1992. I don't remember the room numbers, but think they were 207 and 209 (the first 2 rooms at the top of the main floor stairs). Tried falling off the face of the earth a few times, but seems its round so I eventually end up back where I started.
I lived in Manhattan for a number of years doing different things. Still own a house there in Manhattan that I had turned into (almost) the ultimate bachelor pad (no hot tub or pool) before moving. Its located just west of the KSU baseball complex if there are any potential buyers on here.
For those wondering, I eventually graduated from KSU with a BS in Information Systems and a business minor (Dec 2000). Working full time slowed that process down (Systems Specialist @ MHC, Network Specialist @ KSU, odd that the only real IT related jobs I had were before I got my degree finished). Since then I've done a few different odd jobs - engineering technician, roofing, satellite installations, telephony administration, finally doing electrical and low voltage work for a few years before heading out to West Virginia in June 2005 for a year (installing high-end home audio in multi-million dollar homes). My employer then moved me up to Princeton, NJ, for a few months but wasn't willing to make an income adjustment to compensate for the huge cost of living difference. Now working for Daktronics in Brookings, SD. which has provided several fun and challenging experiences so far. For those wondering, Brookings is where I lived as a child before my family moved to Hays, KS in 1984. Both of my parents families are from around this area, so it was nice to move back here.
Haven't really kept up with anyone, Robert Walters probably being one of the last Smithies I've talked with (and that was several years ago) before stopping by this forum. Was a little shocked to learn Jerry Visser is living here in Brookings as well.
At present still single, although working on fixing (or breaking) that (depending on your viewpoints of marriage).
later folks.
