My name is Russel Woodworth, not to be confused with Russell Wilson who lived at Smith toward the end of my reign.
I was in Smith from 1881 to, I mean 1981 to 1985 (received a BS in Physics - never used) and then returned again in the 1986-87 year, mostly because I missed the fun of living there. Okay, I did get a second bachelor's degree (Psychology).
What's interesting about my time is I straddled the 1983-84 school year when the house closed down as Smith Cooperative House and then reopened in 1985-86 as Smith Scholarship House. Many of us had too low of a GPA to really be considered "scholars" so we were grandfathered in. Luckily with few "old men" to choose from, I was given the opportunity to be Vice-President and Treasurer. I received books and the previous Treasurer (Scott last forgotten) had written in them, "Records destroyed by fire." Funny and it allowed me to balance the books.
I earned an MA in Clinical Psych here in Detroit and almost finished (long story) my PhD. So I've mostly worked in Psych units and thusly have had the opportunity to meet interesting people, like the Archangel Gabriel, God, Jesus, Satan, alien beings etc. I have a million stories I could tell like the woman who thought she was God that sang, "I've got the whole world, in my hands..." or the man that walked up to me and said "Princess Diana loved me so much she gave me her ovaries."
Anyway last year I had enough of the psych field and began looking for something new. I did website design for a year until my business partner secretly moved to the Philippines, leaving me with a nice mess. I'm still in the economically deprived city of Detroit where I continue applying for positions, for naught.
Currently I make a living as a lab rat for medical research. Seriously. Next week I go into a clinic for 21 days to find out why I was able to absorb 10 times more medication than anyone else for a new patch form of the drug Requip (for restless leg syndrome).
Still single, no kids, just hanging out on this blue spinning ball.
Sure wish Marshall Henely (sp?) would write something here. He was a God to all of us that knew him apparently. Maybe I should track him down...
