Hello from the mid- to late-90's Smith Alumnae. I entered the house in August '93. I remember being interviewed by Bill Weber and Mark (not Ford, the other one). I was kitchen manager 94-95. Hung around for a few more years. I moved into an apartment with Jason Rucker for my 5th year. I moved to Tulsa in '98, finished medical school in 2003 and finished my medicine residency this June. I'm now in my first year of Nephrology fellowship. I married Leslie Schultz from Smurthwaite in 2001. We have a 2 year-old, Kate, and a 6 month-old, Kennedy. I'm planning on moving back to Salina in 2008 and joining back up with Chris Kellogg. I'll probably need a good lawyer, anyway. Maybe we can convince Neil Powell to return from Utah. Doubt it. Here's a page with details of my favorite pasttime, mountain bike racing. Later. www.sponsorhouse.com/Members/indiefab/Default.aspx

MOUNTAIN BIKING! YeeHaah! Nice web page. Didn't get to read your blog bit but nice bike man. We may have met briefly at Smith, but I had moved out by '93, graduated in '94.
I raced mountain bikes for only one and half years back in the Chicago area back in 95-96. Never placed, but my buds and I had a heck of a time. It's a shame I don't get to bike much now that I live in bike heaven here in CO but that's family life for ya.
How much did you offroad back in Manhattan? I'd love to swap stories about those trails. I bought my first mountain bike, an '88 Specialized Rockhopper, before starting college since I planned to not have a car at college. I started out just riding to campus until some older guys, I think 'Chief' Jeff Hudlin, and Bob Lee took me out behind the cemetery. Oh man, I was hooked on singletrack after that. I later indoctrinated every new Smithie that came in with knobby tires.
By the way, that Rockhopper is still in my garage as my commuter bike. My offroad rig is a Univega hardtail with a Girvin fork.
Welcome aboard Ryan.

My favorite incident regarding Norm's bicycle while at Smith was the time Norm left his bike in the hall and Anneliese tried to blame Jerry Favre for it. :-D

C'mon Norm, I want some feedback to my post about biking. I'm starving for bike stories here. Are there still some trails off of Linear Park? Is the area behind the cemetery still open? What have they done to the spillway? I broke my jaw riding there after the flood that washed all the topsoil away.
